Art Journal Workshop, 3/3-4/7

The Class is offered free of charge but a $20 materials fee is suggested.

Have you wanted to explore the creative practice of keeping an art journal?

Or do you have an unfinished art journal collecting dust on a shelf? Maybe the entire concept is new to you. All of these are fantastic reasons to join Lille Diane, Mancos artist, in a six-week, hands-on workshop diving into the colorful, imaginative world of “Dear Diary meets Sassy Pantaloons Art Journal”.

Participants will learn about the multiple benefits keeping an art journal provides the maker, and the different styles of journals to fit individual personalities, schedules, or personal goals. Each week Lille will demonstrate a variety of mixed media techniques using paints, markers, collage, stencils, stamps, and clever, recycled tools and items to customize your journal, sketchbook, or travel diary. Plus, local artist, Stephanie Smith, will pop in as a guest instructor.

BONUS: Each week you will have an uninterrupted date with yourself, self-care, and creative expression. Two and a half hours of art making bliss. Netflix who? 12 spaces available.

Pre-register at the library. There is a signup sheet at the Circulation desk.

No drop-ins. Each class builds on the next. Ages 16 – up. Prior to class start Lille will email students a list of basic supplies to bring, plus more information about the workshop. Bring your own dinner, and/or snacks to share and your colorful imagination!
