Deer Hill Expeditions, located near Mancos, is celebrating its 33rd year of bringing together teenagers from around the world to live and work in wilderness and in Native American communities. Deer Hill offers a challenging blend of outdoor living, cross-cultural service, and adventure such as river rafting and backpacking. Beverly and Doug Capelin, founders of Deer Hill and formerly school teachers, will share their vision for Deer Hill and highlights from those 33 years.
Mancos Public Library invites the public for a special, all-ages Poetry Open Mic Night to celebrate National Poetry Month. Come along and celebrate poetry by reading your own work or the work of someone who has inspired you!

Shelby and Roberta Smith will share their experience of Egypt and the Nile via plane, camel, hot-air balloon, and luxurious river boat. This journey features Cairo, the Sphinx, the Pyramids, the temple at Luxor, and the Valley of the Kings, as well as sites where the young Jesus may have lived while his family was in hiding in Egypt.
Veryl Goodnight, artist, sculptor, and member of the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame, will share stories that have inspired her creative works. A reception will follow at her new gallery on Grand Avenue.
