Dustin Stein and Jack and Patricia Burk have formed a partnership designed to help Dustin launch a career in agriculture and provide the labor necessary to keep Burk Beef in business during the Burks’ retirement. Dustin and the Burks will discuss problems facing start-up farmers and ranchers such as land and equipment costs and the tools and programs that are available to encourage retiring folks to team up with a beginner. They will discuss the solutions that land shares and conservation easements offer to land owners and answer questions regarding the arrangements they have made for their property.
Join other members of the community interested in international affairs for a lively, thought-provoking discussion on the above topics. We meet a couple of times a month and use a briefing book and video produced by the Foreign Policy Association as back-ground for the discussions.
To join, sign up and pay at the Circulation Desk at the library. Each briefing book costs $18.00.
